This course provides initial training for workers involved with the abatement of asbestos, for asbestos project monitors and for consultants. This course agenda includes basic level instruction including hands-on-training to cover the following topics. A history of asbestos, application and use of asbestos, effects of asbestos on health, requirements of medical surveillance, up to date state and federal regulations, air monitoring and sampling, bulk sampling and analysis, worker protection equipment, negative air pressure systems, glove bag removal and proper building and maintaining of containment work areas including proper abatement practices and procedures.

This course is 32 hours and is approved by the state of Colorado and meets all the requirements of the EPA and AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act).

This course requires an annual 8 hour refresher course to maintain accreditation.
